“The Otofonix Hearing Aid is the best hearing value in America.”
I cannot say enough to endorse the Otofonix Sona hearing Aida, they are absolutely wonderful. The ability to customize each hearing aid to each ear is amazing. I hear better now that I have in years. The simplicity of design and easy use of the app on my iPhone are great. I have been using hearing aids for about five years and these are absolutely the best I've ever used. When I first used hearing devices it cost more than $5500. These perform better than the half dollar hearing aids. These perform better than the high=dollar hearing aids.
My Helix preforms way beyond my expectations. I did not know if I would like it or if it would be an advancement over my battery powered Otofonix. Wow! It is so satisfying. It is so worth the trouble and the money. It is a pleasure to use it.
I bought these prior to spending thousands on a professional pair to see if I would actually use them. From the initial experience of some tinniness, I read the instructions that said to expect them. I've only realized lately how much I depend on them. I forgot them one day and I had forgotten how I needed to ask people to repeat themselves. No problems with them at all.
This is the second hearing aid I have purchased from Otofonix. I don't have much of a hearing loss, and it's mostly in one ear. The first hearing aid that I got in 2015 lost its ability to hold the tube that runs from the ear canal to the amplifier in back of the ear, starting after 9 months of use. This resulted in a lot of squealing. I did without hearing amplification for a few years, and then realized I was turning the television sound up whenever I watched it. This amplifier works well to amplify the sounds from the television, so that I can understand everything. The higher frequencies are a little tinny, so I turn the mode to the second mode for normal conversation with people. I like this hearing amplifier because it's easy to adjust both the sound and the mode. It fits pretty well, although the small tip slips out of my narrowed ear canal sometimes, but I can just press it back in. It lasts over a week on each battery. I'm very happy with it and would buy another if something happens to this one.
I have had my Otofonix Encore Hearing Aids for almost a year and I am very satisfied with them. I had problems with rechargeable devices from another company so I decided to go with the battery devices from Otofonix. I am using batteries from Costco and have had no problems. The battery life is satisfactory. The hearing aids are comfortable and easy to adjust for different situations. They definitely meet my needs and I would recommend Otofonix to anyone looking for non-prescription devices. I previously had expensive prescription hearing aids and I find that the Otofonix devices perform just as well for me. They are very secure when in place. However, I have noticed that they can be dislodged when taking a mask off (not while wearing a mask - only when removing it). This is not a serious problem as long as the user is aware of it.
I bought my pair of Sona Bluetooth hearing aids as a backup for my old hearing aids I got from the VA because they’re about 4 years old and not working very well anymore. I had looked at getting a new pair from my doctor, but the cost was $4500.00 out of pocket. These do a great job at a tenth of the price. I have been very pleased with the sound quality and how easy it is to adjust them using the Otofonix app. I have recommended them to several people already.
I lost one of my old prescription hearing aids and found out that I would have to pay out of pocket for a replacement. I’m retired and live on a fixed income, so coming up with another $2300 for the replacement aid simply wasn’t a viable option for me, so after one of my buddies told me about Otofonix I ended up purchasing the Sona. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to perfectly adjust them right from their little app on my phone! It’s so nice to not have to ask anyone to speak a little louder or to turn the television up anymore, I just adjust my Sona’s with my phone and nobody is the wiser!
This is the third Bluetooth hearing aid I’ve tried, and I’m almost glad the first two were duds because not only did I save a couple thousand dollars by going with the Otofonix Sona – I now can adjust my own hearing aids without having to go through the hassle of making, driving to, and paying for the audiologist to do it every time. I even was able to update the settings using my newest audiogram! Needless to say, I am extremely happy with my new Sona’s and I definitely give them 5/5 stars.
I first started noticing that my hearing was diminished in high school. After a battery of tests, I was told, "we don't know what's wrong, so we can't give you a hearing aid." I've dealt with it for over 30 years, choosing my seats carefully, positioning myself so that my stronger ear is toward the person who is speaking, reading lips, etc. Enter 2020, and everyone has their mouth covered, and all of a sudden, I can't read lips, and now I can't hear anyone. My father had me try his $$$ hearing aids, and the difference was immediate. I started researching, and discovered these. They arrived quickly, and were set to use right away. After 30 years of thinking that a cat's purr was simply a vibration to be felt, not heard, I heard my cat purr for the first time. My daughter says my speaking voice is quieter and I'm not saying, "what?" all the time. It's not perfect, but the difference is amazing. I plan to get a left aid as soon as I can afford it.
After 4 months of use I absolutely love this hearing aid. I mostly use program 3 as it fits my hearing loss pretty well. I've noticed I can hear much better while in meetings at work and I don't say "what did you say" as often, although when there is a lot of background noise it gets a bit harder to understand when someone is speaking to you, but that is somewhat normal for people that hear well also. I still don't hear my blinker in my truck and my wife is still saying "your blinker is still on!" I would certainly recommend these to anyone that is hard of hearing, in fact, I have recommended it to a lot of friends and family. One thing I have noticed is while mixing down music in my recording studio I've gone back to a few tracks I was working on prior to buying this and noticed some of the high-end instruments such as cymbals were way too bright and loud as I couldn't hear those frequencies before wearing the aid.
So, go out and spend minimum $5000 on an OTICON hearing aid like I did, you will eventually determine it is a waste of money. I highly endorse the OTOFONIX for moderate hearing loss, I truly believe the hearing aid industry is a rip-off, especially when great hearing aids like OTOFONIX are available.
This is my first attempt at a hearing device. Although I could afford a hearing aide at any cost I decided to try the inexpensive Elite Otofonix to see if I could tolerate a hearing device and if it would help. I had no trouble whatsoever adapting to the Elite. I have had it a week and wore it most pm hours during the day. I don't wear it walking on the beach or to the gym as I did read humidity or dampness can be a problem. I have wore it to a dance, basketball game and play. I was amazed how good I could hear and I adapted quickly to the background noise of the various activities. I haven't tried all the settings but Setting 1 and 2 both work well. It is easy to adjust, it doesn't whistle. My girlfriends didn't even know I had it on as it is nearly invisible in my ear. I hear much better and plan to continue to wear the Elite most awake hours when not at the beach or gym. I will share I am fairly flexible and normally can go with the flow. I expected the Elite to work and it did. Currently I have no plans to attempt a more expensive hearing device as the Elite appears to be working fine.
I bought these for my father who is 72 and has been in construction for 40 years. The saws and air compressors took a toll on his hearing. He can't hear high pitch noises like crickets or squeeks in his old truck, and in noisy restaurants or crowded places he could not tell if you were talking to him unless you were yelling almost. And the TV at full volume to hear the conversations. He loves them and praises them. Good product for the price. I did alot of research before buying these for him and when I loose my hearing, I'll be buying a pair. The service was great to we called and they walked him through setting it up and what and what not to do!
I have had the hearing aid for about 8 months. During that time I have worn it regularly. Previously I had a fancy, Bluetooth-equipped $2500 model from my audiologist, but I wore it in hot weather when I was hiking and sweating and a couple of times (briefly) in the shower and it didn't work anymore because of my carelessness. I bought this one as a replacement for the expensive model hoping that it would be a worthy substitute. This unit doesn't have Bluetooth or any bells and whistles, but it actually works really well. The sound quality is as good as the expensive one. I hear the tv much better and I am able to participate in conversations with confidence. It works well enough that I would definitely recommend it to others and I would also buy it again for myself. In addition, the customer service is absolutely outstanding. It is the best bang for the buck that I have found!
